Beatrix Fekete, is a Dublin based contemporary artist and art tutor specialised in alternative learning techniques.

She holds group classes teaching “drawing with the right side of the brain” methodologies.

Approach

At the beginning of this project we identified two key factors where we focused on: first to change the design for a more sophisticated , elegant and concise look and second to setup a web shopping experience as a new feature available to the visitors on every possible online devices all in maintained in responsively.

The site contains a catalogue from the very best of her paintings to promote them to a wider audience including fellow artists, gallery owners, art collectors and in most particular to reach out for potential patrons worldwide by setting up an online purchase facility.

Process

Reviewing the previous version of the website I suggested changes not only on visual attributes but also the functionality. I came up with a new colour scheme which was consistently applied to the ui elements such as buttons, hover stages , logo design. The styling of these elements was still kept in the same manner in order to keep with the original pure appearance.

COLOUR SCHEMES

Notable changes made by came up with a new colour scheme and some decorative elements in order to achieve a more concise feel for the art world.

TYPOGRAPHY

Font Robot Slab was already used at the previous version and she wanted to carry on with the same feel of typography. I paired it with Sunflower which was applied to the headers.

Despite of these changes in typography, the copies, the textual blocks and contents remained the same. But the structure and layouts of these elements , all the main blocks was re-edited to achieve a sharp minimal style, by placing the photographies, ui elements, graphics, texts and white space in harmony.
